What is a Freight Farm?

A Freight Farm is a modular, hydroponic, vertical farm built entirely inside a 40 foot shipping container. It can grow hundreds of different crops in any environment.

What can we grow with a Freight Farm?

One Freight Farms Greenery S is capable of growing lettuces, leafy greens, herbs, brassicas, certain root vegetables, microgreens, edible flowers, and many other crops in any location, regardless of exterior climate.

Where can I put a Freight Farm?

Aside from connection to utilities, Greenery S installation requires only a level 50’ x 10’ parcel sturdy enough to withstand the farm’s eight-ton gross weight (pavement, concrete, trap rock, and sonotubes are all adequate surfaces). The Greenery S is built in new international, intermodal freight containers, and is therefore literally designed to travel.

What is the cost of the container farm?

The price of the Greenery is $165,000 (international pricing will vary). We suggest budgeting around $180,000 to account for shipping and site preparation costs. Average annual operating costs are about $20,000 depending on variables like the cost of electricity and labor. You can see more detailed pricing information here.
